Who are you? Where are you from?

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics at Smith College; before, I was a Post-doctoral Scholar in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. I am from Barcelona, a beautiful city located in Catalonia. Here is my CV, if you are interested.

How do you pronounce your name?

Many people are surprised about the way I pronounce my name. Xavier is a Catalan name, whose short version is Xavi; people usually call me Xavi, which is pronounced like "Chabee" in English.
